About Me:
I am from Turkey and have lived and worked in three countries (Turkey, the USA, and the UK) before moving to the UK (the second time) to relocate to Lancaster in 2023. I am a chemical engineer and work as a Lecturer at Lancaster University. This means that I do lots of scientific research and higher education teaching. I love being active and try to travel as much as possible. My wife and I love road trips. I love sports activities, especially snowboarding, football, and working out!

I would love to bring our lab to the students or the other way around. I would like to explain/show more of what we do in the lab to solve real-life problems to encourage more students in STEM research subjects.
We design sensors that can give information about our body or our environment. They help us identify diseases earlier and also monitor our environment. I would like to make our scientific concepts more understandable and accessible to secondary and high school students.

My Typical Day:
I don’t wake up very early, I think this is because we don’t have any kids yet π But I do wake up fairly on time to start my day efficiently.Β My typical day mostly depends on my teaching schedule and pre-arranged meetings. So I am bound to my day-to-day schedule. I also work on my research proposals and networking activities for the rest of the time. I work quite flexibly and I work out at least three times a week after work. I go home around 6-7 pm and get comfy for the evening. I sometimes end up working at home too but I try to avoid it if I can.
