Courtney Povey is the winner of the second term, after receiving the most votes from students! She wins £500 to spend on more science engagement activities.

Here’s what she had to say about her victory:

Wow I am very excited to have won this term, a massive thank you to all the students that have voted!

I have had the best time chatting with all of the students, the chats have been very engaging and lots of fun. A massive thank you to all the other scientists that have also taken part. It was very interesting to see the variety of different jobs and research areas, I learnt lots of new things from you all. 

Finally, thank you to the I’m a Scientist team for allowing us to have the opportunity to inspire the next generation of scientists. I wish activities like this were available to me while I was at school.

I plan to use the money to bring some students who are interested in a career as a scientist to my lab where they can gain experience as well as visit local schools/community groups to teach them about their reproductive health.  I also want to host a community science fair for the locals schools in my area where there will be lots of people working in STEM with fun activities.
