We all make mistakes sometimes… What you shouldn’t do is regret them! Sometimes making mistakes can lead to better understanding and a more positive outcome in the longer term.

I make mistakes, we all do. Mistakes in my work can have serious consequences as I work with patients and it means that we could mix up patient records. However to stop this happening there are lots and lots of checks. The most important thing is to own up to your mistakes, nobody goes wrong on purpose and it’s an opportunity for everybody to learn.

Yes, but I do not regret it. Mistakes are part of a learning process, without it you will not progress or develop as a scientist. No one is perfect or gets it right every time. But it is important to not let the mistakes define or affect you.
