Yes! I have two lovely kids, aged 5 and 1. It is sometimes hard balancing working full time with caring for them, but my job is flexible enough to be able to work around them. My youngest is in reception and is loving maths and science!

Amy Stockwell answered on 13 Mar 2024:
No. I’m single and I’ve never wanted children.
I am an ‘aunt’ to several of my friend’s children. I get to do all the fun playing and chatting and never have to change a nappy!
I am also a mentor to my junior colleagues. Because I am not their manager they feel that they can talk to me about things they wouldn’t talk to their manager about. -

Michael Schubert answered on 14 Mar 2024:
I don’t have any children of my own, but I do have a lot of nieces, nephews, bonus niblings, and friends who have children (or who are children!). I don’t expect ever to have children of my own, but I do want to keep on doing science communication and education with kids!

Hayley Pincott answered on 22 Mar 2024:
Yes, I have 3 sons. I went to uni to do my HNC while I was working, so I was in work 4 days a week and sitting in lectures 1 day a wee. So my eldest son was 4 when I started uni, then in my 1st year I had my middle son, then my final year I had my youngest son. It was really hard work, and meant I had to get very good, very quickly with managing my time. But it all worked out well and I passed my HNC with a merit.
