In my spare time I love to go out and about with friends/family – especially things like cinema and theatre trips. I enjoy cycles/walks/outdoor activities in general – when I was at university I used to enjoy rowing and coxing (the person who’s in charge of the boat – they steer the boat and encourage and coach the rowers, which pretty much translates to doing a lot of shouting). This makes me sound like I’m super sporty, but actually I used to hate PE in school and still suck at team sports – my brothers always make fun of how bad I am at throwing and catching 😀
I’m a big reader – anything fiction and I’ll be there. As a kid I would spend a lot of time at the library, and as an adult I now have a Kindle with at least 50 books that I’ve bought but haven’t read! When I was younger I used to really love Enid Blyton books, then moved onto the fantasy world, including Harry Potter which is still a favourite, and now I’ll read pretty much anything!
I always enjoy travelling, visiting any new country or city is super fun for me, but beaches are definitely my favourite and I love any water based activities – swimming, snorkelling, kayaking and I’m hoping to learn to scuba dive in the next few months!

I’m a software engineer, so in my job I write code which gets translated into websites and apps. I do this for companies working in different types of science research, so for example, my apps could be helping them create new recipes for shampoos, or develop new medicines.
