I play football 3-4 times a week, and I play for the Biology team – at the moment we’re top of the league. I like to be a right forward!

I love to dance, when I’m not being a scientist, I’m teaching the tango to people all across the world!

We all know plants make Oxygen and Glucose, right! But they also make many other cool things (compounds). When you eat vanilla ice cream, the vanilla flavour comes from a plant. When you take medicines from the doctor when you’re ill, those medicines originally come from plants. When you get stung a by a stinging nettle, the plant is releasing things they made onto your skin. So what I do is study how plants make these things!

Every Monday I plan out my week with all the experiments I need to do. Sometimes one experiment can take many days, so it’s important to plan ahead! There are always meetings and classes to go to. I like going to other classes so I can learn other things too – right now I take Chinese class to learn to speak Mandarin. I always bring my football boots in case there is a match to play in the evening after work, or sometimes drills and practice. Then I like to go home have dinner, and maybe go for a swim or the gym. The last thing I do is read a story book to relax and fall asleep.
