About Me:

I live in the countryside near Selby with my partner. Outside of work I love to horse ride, I sing in a choir, and I am a passionate reader.

My Work:

I work for a medical devices company (they make plasters, and hip and knee replacements). My job is to look at all the evidence (clinical studies) to assess how the knee replacements are working for people who have them in their body.

I don’t work in a lab like some other scientists. A lot of the time when I’m looking at the evidence I am trying to find out what our knee replacements and robot does well (and what it is average at) to help form ideas for new clinical studies, new products or to help doctors understand when and how to use our knee replacements.
My Typical Day:
- I wake up and go look after my horses
- I have breakfast and start work
- I then start work at home on my computer and have lots of conversations with people around the world for my job
- I go see my horse at lunch time and then go back to work
- In an afternoon I can be writing a new piece of research, writing a presentation to show to other people at work or looking at data
What I'd do with the prize money:

Donate it to the British Science Association to help underrepresented outreach areas
