I lead a small team of five responsible for IT Infrastructure and Cloud services in a company of 12,000 users. We are supported by two major Service Providers, one for on-premises BAU and one for Cloud operations. We work closely with specialists at vendors such as Google and Microsoft.
I have worked here for 14 years and there has been many changes in how IT is viewed in that time. In the past four years, we’ve moved much of our technologies into the Cloud but have kept a hybrid environment. This allows us the flexibility to pick solutions that are practical, cost effective and scaleable.

My Typical Day:
We have breakfast at home as a family about 8am. I walk the girls and their friends up to school for 9. Much of my day is filled with meetings with team members and other technical teams. Defining and reviewing technical documentation is a area that I need to get more time to do.

Work History:
Bar Manager in East End London
Night Controller at a Taxi/Chauffer company in London
IT Support in Aberdeen
Infrastructure Analyst, then Architect before my current role.
