  I work on a high performance compute cluster! This allows us to carry out lots of different tasks on the computer all at once, and lets us use really large amounts of computer memory to do this!

I worked on the Human Genome Project. Not an instrument in itself, but it has been the start of some really good instruments called sequencers which can work out the exact set of DNA instructions for any living thing on the planet – even germs – which can lead to the development of treatment to help anyone living with a disease.
