Rosa Sanchez-Lucas answered on 14 Mar 2024:
Biologically, the cells start to decompose. Decomposition is the process in which the organs and complex molecules of animal and human bodies break down into simple organic matter over time. In vertebrates, five stages of decomposition are typically recognized: fresh, bloat, active decay, advanced decay, and dry/skeletonized. During the flesh and bloat, other life organisms can be feed with it, they are called detritivores or decomposers.

spiritually there are many ways of thought as to what happens when you die but the science will say your state of conciousness is lost and the body no longer functions as it did in life. breathing stops the heart ceases to beat. the brain no longer transmits the messages of life that are needed to the body. now that the body is no longer living it will decompose.
