Question: do you know anything about computer cyber security

The company I work for has recently purchased a cyber security company called LEET security, I have not yet had training with them yet but recently we have seen an increase in Phishing attempts against our company and there was a really huge ransomware attack for a large company called Schneider Electric you can read about it here
Unfortunately there are loads of these sorts of attacks and attempts made which is why Cyber Security is super important, limiting what is shared and shown about you online will protect you in the future.

It is a very important topic, with control systems it’s not just important for the computers and servers we use. But also the equipment that is connected to them, such as valves or pumps as these can have Wi-Fi or Bluetooth included in them that make diagnostics easier but can allow the wrong people access to that piece of equipment.
Anti-virus is required as a minimum but there are regulations and “good practice” policies you can follow for different scenarios though nothing will ever be perfect (the more secure the system the less likely your control system will want to work with it – the best you can hope for is a good balance).
There are lots of certificates you can get to prove your competency in cybersecurity, though expect to always have to learn new things as software changes and new vulnerabilities are discovered that you have to mitigate for.
