About Me:

I live in Nottingham and enjoy travelling to other countries to try their food and see nature. I am a science researcher in the day and work in a pub in the evenings. On the weekend, I like to meet my friends for coffee, go to the gym or sing karaoke (although I’m a terrible singer!).

I enjoy being around animals- my mum has a dog (jasper) and a cat (felix). I would like pets in the future.

I have three sisters who mean the world to me, I am the oldest of four. The youngest is now 20 so we are all good friends. We like to go for food when we see each other- my favourite cuisine is Mexican.

I also enjoy spending time with my friends; escape rooms, cinema, going for walks in the peak district and travelling. Last year I went to to Vietnam and Thailand, lived in USA for three months, and visited Dublin, Bruge and Budapest for weekends.

My Work:

I am an animal nutrition researcher. I want to find our how important the food we feed our pets is. I am interested in learning whether dogs can be vegetarian and if we can stop kidney disease in cats.

Many cats get poorly as they get older, and this is sometimes because of kidney problems. Kidneys filter our blood and allows us to remove things we don’t need in our urine. As animals get older, the kidneys don’t work very well and they stop filtering as much. My research is looking at whether we can stop this happening by changing the food we feed to our cats. This could let cats live longer, healthier lives.

I took a couple years out to work before going to Coventry University at 21

Then I worked some more before starting a PhD aged 28

  1) To have unlimited money so I could travel everywhere and buy my mum a house. 2) To ensure my family and close friends don't get seriously ill before old age. 3) To end all wars
