That’s around age 10-11 right? (Sorry we had different names for the years when I was a kid, so I’m never sure). I always took school seriously because I wanted to be successful later in life. But at that stage I hadn’t really realised I had the potential to be good at science. What you are good at can change over time, with what you focus your effort on. All my relatives had an arty focus in their lives, and this was more of an influence on me when I was younger. It took me a while to find my own skill areas for myself, and realise it was science. I started doing better in science in high school.
I honestly don’t remember science classes at that age – I would say I started taking science seriously in high school (age 14 +) when I started thinking about career choices and exams. But I always enjoyed learning at school and most classes (… not maths though!)
