About Me:
I currently live in Cambridge. I am a statistician trying to find interesting patterns in numbers. Outside of work, I like playing board games and playing the guitar (but at my place I have a ukulele!).

My Work:
I work with data about patients to predict their risk of having health problems or to find the risk factors for certain diseases.

Some institutions collect lots of numerical data about people (like blood tests, but also brain images etc…) and as a (bio)statistician I want to improve the methods to extract useful knowledge that doctors can use to better understand which factors are linked with a disease. But statisticians make sense of data in many different fields, not only medicine!

My Typical Day:
My work day starts with reading and replying to emails. In the morning, I read scientific articles to learn more about the data or the statistical methods I am using. Then, in the afternoon I often do some programming to summarise the data or to produce (hopefully) nice visualisations of the data. I work mostly in the office but from time to time I also work from home, as the only piece of equipment that I need is a laptop.
