Mohan Sridharan answered on 4 Jul 2024:
This is an interesting question that can be answered in a different way depending on how we define “advanced”. Several years ago, I worked on a robot that was used to navigate, map, and collect samples from the area under the ice shelf in Antarctica. There were many complex and interacting software and hardware components in this robot. Since then, I am worked on a robot that had to interact and collaborate with humans regarding objects on a tabletop or in an indoor (home) environment. The second example may seem to be a lot simpler than the first one but understanding and collaborating with humans is actually a much more complex problem!
