About Me:
Hey, I’m Tom, I grew up in the UK but I live in Munich, Germany with my girlfriend. I’m an engineer working on cars and aircraft for different companies in Europe.
I went to university in 2010-2014 and I like running, cycling, hiking in the mountains, climbing and swimming, and I love travelling the world.

My Work:
I’m an automotive & aerospace engineer, and I work in a team of engineers on different projects: electric cars, aircraft, and some environmentally friendly technologies.

My Typical Day:
I start my day at 7am, eat breakfast and have coffee. After getting ready, I look at my calendar to see what I have to do during the day, and then I talk to my team of engineers and we look at problems in the different projects that need to be fixed.
The best part of my job is watching machines build and test parts that we make, sometimes until they break. We often test parts more than 100,000 times!
At 5pm I finish work, I go to the gym, or run, and then cook dinner and sometimes join a class to learn German language.

What I'd do with the prize money:
I’d use my prize money to help buy practical science & engineering kits/activities for students.

2014-2016: Automotive Engineer on Jaguar Land Rover car projects.
2016-2018: Project Engineer working on an electric van made from aluminium.
2018-2019: Project Engineer working on a new electric car designed by Dyson.
2020-2023: Engineering Manager developing a solar powered car in Munich, Germany.
2023-present: Senior Engineer working on electric cars, aircraft and sustainable technologies.
