About Me:
I live with my partner (and cat) in Oxfordshire, although I’m originally from Cumbria. I work as an analytical chemist for a drug discovery and development company. In my spare time, you’ll find me pottering around the garden mostly.
-
My pronouns are:
She/Her
-
My Work:
I work in small molecule purification, which means I remove important drug molecules from unwanted waste or side-products. This helps the important drug molecules get tested properly, to see which ones work best.
-
My Typical Day:
A typical day involves being woken up early by Jasper (the cat) for breakfast. I get to work at 7am and head straight into the lab to set up for the day. I have lunch with friends and then have a mix of lab-work and desk-work for the afternoon, checking results and making reports. I head home at 4pm.
-
What I'd do with the prize money:
I take part in several outreach projects each year – I’d love to invest more in interactive hands-on games/activities for the public to try, whilst learning about science!
