I live in Cambridgeshire with my partner and my dog. I work as a Senior Material Scientist during the day. Outside of this, I love spending time with my dog, growing my own vegetables and snuggling up in my oodie binging netflix.

My Work:

I am a Material Scientist, my job is to look at the materials used within printers and find out how they react to inks.

Materials science helps teach us what things are made of and why they behave as they do. My job involves a lot of problem solving and trying to work out why things are going wrong.
My Typical Day:

I wake up and walk the dog before heading into work for 8:30am. I carry out lots of experiments before having lunch in the cafeteria. After lunch I look at my results and having meetings to discuss them. I go home at 5pm.

During a typical working day I normally have several different catch up meetings about ongoing projects and issues. I carry out a range of different experiments in the lab using analytical equipment to try to solve problems. I analyse my results using Microsoft excel and have to draw conclusions from my work before presenting these to my colleagues.
