I’m Head of Sustainability for NHS Supply Chain, we buy goods on behalf of the NHS.

My work involves looking at the environmental and social impacts of everything we do, looking to help the NHS achieve its Net Zero ambitions
My Typical Day:

There is no such thing as a typical day. I work in a hybrid model, which means some days I work from home, some day I am in the office, sometimes I’m with customers at their sites, and some times I am with our suppliers.

The variability with my role is one of the things I really love about my job.
What I'd do with the prize money:

I would donate it to charity. I volunteer for Yorkshire Cat Rescue at the weekend, and they use donations to care for rescue cats in kittens across Yorkshire.

Education:

I went to school in South Nottinghamshire, and carried on to do A levels at the same school.

I then left to go to University in Aberdeen, doing an Undergrad and Masters

Once I started work I was also able to continue to learn and did a further degree via the University of bath and further Post Grad education through professional bodies
Qualifications:

I have 12 GCSE’s, 4 A levels, A Master of Arts degree, as well as professional accreditations and Chartered status
Work History:

I worked through studying, I worked in shops and supermarkets, as well as in sales, i then started on a graduate program, and worked as a marketing analyst, a recycling service team leader, environmental advisor, sustainability leader, head of dept, and Environment and compliance and as a Head of Sustainability
