I live in Edinburgh with my partner 🏘️ I am a PhD student at Edinburgh Napier University researching psychology 🧠 I love cats, reading and doing yoga 🐈🧘‍♀️ At the weekend you’ll find me somewhere in the Scottish Highlands climbing a Munro or two 🏕️

My Work:

My PhD research investigates how dyslexia is identified in school-age students 🧠 I’m interested in understanding how people use the information around them to make decisions and the experiences of young people with dyslexia 💭
My Typical Day:

I’m not much of a morning person, so I like to eat breakfast and exercise before I start my day 🚴‍♀️ I love planning and organising my work through to-do lists, so most days I focus on ticking off as many items as I can. Usually, this involves analysing data or reading research papers 📚 Some days I have supervision meetings or attend training sessions which develop my research skills.
What I'd do with the prize money:

If I won the prize money, I would love to put it towards making an online media series about dyslexia. My goal would be to create an online resource which could be accessed by everyone and anyone who wants to learn more about dyslexia and bring the latest research findings together in a jargon-free zone.
