About Me:
I live in Berkshire with my husband and two teenage sons. I love travelling, gardening and cycling, and chocolate is my favourite food in the whole world!

My Work:
I am the T Level Lead at the Science Council, and my role is centred on raising awareness of T Level Science within the wider science community. I am also a qualified secondary school teacher and careers advisor.Β

My Typical Day:
I work from home and have a desk in my bedroom, overlooking the garden. I work with the different schools and colleges that offer T Level Science, as well as the different licensed bodies who are members of the Science Council, including the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC),Β the Royal Society of Biology (RSB) and the Institute of Physics (IOP). Much of my day is spent on Teams calls as I connect education providers with science professionals, or going to events in my role as a T Level Ambassador.

What I'd do with the prize money:
Create a T Level Science award and host an event to shine a spotlight on the amazing opportunities the qualification can offer!

First job: Jones the Bootmaker, sale assistant. Age 14 – 20 (weekend/uni holidays)
Babysitting, nannying, tutoring through teenage years.
First teaching job at 22. 20 years as a teacher in secondary schools.
Freelance independent careers advisor.
A Level examiner.

Current Job:
T level lead at the Science Council. Raising awareness of the Science T Level with employers and licensed bodies in the science community. Working with schools and colleges and young people to provide information and resources on the benefits of professional membership and registration.
