There are many ways to get into sport science.
Martin’s link to the universities degrees should show you their requirements. But there are also higher national diplomas and related apprenticeships you can google to find out more ways of getting into the field.

Hi there, Martin has shared a great link there. Entry requirements will differ between Universities and some will require you to have studied particular subjects. I work in Sport, Exercise and Health Science at Edinburgh Napier University and some info on our course and the entry requirements can be found here:
https://www.napier.ac.uk/courses/bsc-hons-sport-and-exercise-science-undergraduate-fulltime.
This is the Sport Science option but we offer 4 different UG routes, all relating to Sport, Exercise or Health Science. This includes a course specifically aimed at Football Coaching, Performance and Development, which is run with input by the Scottish FA.
Subjects you might need include Biology or Human Biology, Chemistry or Physics, PE or Psychology. You may also need Maths, but not at Higher level.
As Emma said, you can also undertake college courses to enter into Sport Science degrees at a later time, for instance, straight into 2nd or 3rd year.
It is also beneficial to be interested in and/or partake in sport or exercise, as a lot of the course involves practical classes where you will be asked to participate! Not always in the exercise, but maybe in the data collection and analysis.
There are so many Sport Science courses to choose from across the UK. It is really helpful to visit on Open Days etc. and see the facilities that are available and get a feel for the Campus and University!

sport science is an interesting mix of needing a good scientific understanding and also an appreciation for at least one sport. As said in the other comments, there are a whole load of different types of sport science to look into, so it’s worth thinking about what exactly you are interested in doing

You’ve had some great answers to this question! There are different angles you can take in studying sport science, so work out what approach best fits with the things you enjoy and are interested in. That might help you decide what qualifications to get and where to get them (because different programs have different levels of focus on each angle)!
