Question: do you rescue dogs?

I don’t personally, but I once rescued a stray family of cats while I was on an industrial placement year in Germany. I was really sad I couldn’t keep them, but I was only in Germany for a year and lived in a shared flat so there was no way, but luckily I managed to find homes for them all! I get sent occasional updates.

Oh, that would be lovely – I love dogs, but I can’t care for one now as I’m out too much.
One of my PhD students fostered a trainee guide dog recently. He looked after the dog in the evening and at weekends, and the dog went to guide dog training in the daytime. The dog is now placed with a lovely family. My student misses him, so I hope he gets another dog when he finishes his PhD :). -

I used to have a pet dog, a pomeranian, when I was a kid. But it would be unfair to keep a dog at home as both my wife and I work. Dogs need company and socialisation as they are pack animals. They can get problematic if left alone for a long time.

No I don’t. My husband and I work full time and my children are at school so I think it would be a little unfair to leave a dog without any company for that long throughout the day. But after having 3 children surely a dog couldn’t be much harder to look after, I mean it couldn’t possibly be as messy or eat as much as them……could it??????

I would if my home life would allow for it. I used to walk dogs from a local rescue but haven’t been able to since COVID

Not as part of my job, but all of my pets have been shelter rescues! Right now I have a dog, but before him, I had two cats. All of them came from shelters and my next pet will, too!
