Kirsty Ross answered on 1 Jul 2024:
An algorithm is a set of instructions that tell a computer what to do. It underpins all computing. However, it is easy for mistakes to sometimes happen when writing them, as they can be millions of lines of code and it could be as simple as a full stop in the wrong place! However, computers have to run these step by step billions of times a second.
