Question: why do worms interest you?

Camilla Cassidy answered on 24 Jun 2024:
Lots of marine biologists work on animals that seem exciting like whales, fish and sharks. However, many more marine biologists study and research animals that don’t at first glance seem so cool – like my interest in worms! Worms play important roles in their habitats by moving mud around when they burrow into the soil. When they do this they affect the chemistry of the mud, for example by bringing oxygen and carbon dioxide down into the mud so that other animals and plants can respire, live and grow.
