My children make me smile! One is 5 and starting to learn so much at school, and it’s lovely to see her enthusiasm. The other one just turned 1 and is adorable.
Oh, also dogs make me smile 🙂

I’m scared of rollercoasters – which is strange, because I’m often in schools talking about how they work and how we can keep them safe!
And dogs scare me too – if they’re very barky or jumpy.

Random acts of kindness make me smile. Helping people with small tasks, and seeing other people look out for each other makes me very happy.
My partner is also the funniest person I know, so he makes me smile a lot.

I have a mild phobia of slugs. I get very scared if I see one inside. Luckily I now live in a flat, far away from the soggy wet ground!
It is a bit weird that I’m disgusted by slugs when I work with parasitic worms and I find those okay… but I can’t help it.

I’m usually quite cheerful… so most things make me smile… As to something that makes me afraid… hydrofluoric acid!

Honestly it’s mostly when I see my students and coworkers succeed after weeks of hard work in the labs. There’s just somthing about seeing them work tirelessly on designing experiments or attempting somthing new and for it to work and to see them happy and excited brings a smile to my face 😀

In terms of what scares me the most… i think most people would assume its the bacteria I work with… but in reality it’s the ocean.

Lots of things make me smile, but some of my favourites are my friends, my dog, and being in the outdoors. (Well, most of the time… here in Canada, it gets extremely cold in the winter, so it’s not always fun to be outside in bad weather!)

I’m also scared of quite a few different things. For instance, I’m quite nervous about bears because they are common where I live and, because they have a very good sense of smell, we have to be very careful when we go camping or hiking in case they get too interested in our food! (And it doesn’t have to be real food, either; for instance, they get very curious about the smell of toothpaste because they think it might be food.)

Firstly My Son, he likes asking me, dad how are you when ever am back from work or with him at home.

Secondly when people are kind to each other.

I do not think anything scares me.

I have a reputation at work for being quite grumpy and serious and not smiling so i don’t really want to ruin that persona but my son and what he says and does makes me smile.

I haven’t come across too much that scares me but maybe wasps, i don’t like wasps and i’m not keen on heights so if i see a wasp when i am up really high then i might be in trouble.

Outside of work my biggest smiles are 1) when my wife gets home! 2) when my choir completely gets a concept I’ve asked for and everyone has an “aha!” moment.
In work, biggest smiles are when the team comes together and solves a problem.

As to what makes me afraid – heights are my biggest, which is funny because I do rock climbing as a hobby!
