  In fact you would burn up way before you were able to actually touch the Sun. The temperature of the Sun is 5500C on its surface.
  
  We study the Sun using missions such as SOLO and the Parker Solar Probe. These missions are satellites sent into Space with special tools on them to tell us information about the Sun. For things that close to the Sun special precautions are needed such as heat shields and white paints to cope with the high temperatures.
