When I’m struggling in the lab or with my analysis I find talking to other people always helps. Usually in a department there are a lot of different scientists with different skills who can give you advice, or by talking problems through we can come up with new solutions together.
I work with a lot of my friends so it can help to talk to them too.

Being resourceful is important in doing research. So when I encounter a problem, I first try to identify what kind of problem and then think what are the next steps. For example, do a lot of literature research on similar studies and see if others have similar problems. Discussing with colleagues using the same lab equipment and similar research areas is also good.

I go through all the steps in my experiments to be such I’m not missing anything, then try to read scientific journals on similar research and finally discuss with my colleagues.
