I mostly love my job – the meetings can be a bit tedious but I enjoy the problem solving aspect and being able to get up close with the aircraft I support

Neil Barnby answered on 3 Jul 2024:
I love my job. I love the problem solving and the chance to show other departments the work we do and how we can help in reducing crime and saving time for those who work on the front line. I also think that the environment that I work in is very supportive and I am able to develop my skills continually.

There is no reason you couldn’t if you set your sights on it. It has been a long road for me to get here but this job didn’t exist until a few years ago so I did many things before it. It really requires an understanding on Data Science (AI models), mathematics (remembering I failed my maths at school though), computer science with some coding, presentation skills and good organisation. Everybody asks e about the coding part as to what language, but it doesn’t matter, any language will be good although in Data Science we tend to use a lot of Python.
