I trained as a photographer before working for the NHS and still like to take pictures.

I love all types of art and have recently taken up water-colour painting and I need lots of practice!

I like to travel and have been to America and lots of different countries in Europe, I would love to go to Japan

I used to have a horse and competed in showjumping competitions with him most weekends and I have competed in a rally car which was very exciting.

My Work:

I work as a Cardiac clinical physiologist which means we do the tests that help the doctors find out what’s wrong with people. I spend most of my time taking ultrasound pictures of peoples hearts.

I started as a student physiologist 30 years ago and have worked my way up through the department and now manage a team of 20 people. I spend most of my time in Echo which is where we take pictures of peoples hearts. I love working with people and spend most of my day talking to different patients whilst I am doing their tests.
My Typical Day:

On a typical day I get up at 6.15am and either walk the dog or iron my uniforms.

I have a coffee and some cereal and then drive for 20 minutes to get to work.

I usually see around 8 patients per day and have one or two meetings with team members or different departments in the hospital.

I have a sandwich at lunchtime and then carry on seeing patients. Sometimes the patients come from home and other times we go to the wards to see people who are poorly and need to stay in hospital.

I go home at 5pm and walk the dog again before tea.

I like to go to the gym if I have time!
What I'd do with the prize money:

Book several STEM events and order more interactive STEM equipment such as the pumping heart model and supplies for the students to have a great time with.
