      Certainly not very healthy for the slug and not particularly tasty for you! Slugs produce a lot (and I mean a lot!) of mucus. This is to stop them drying out and help them travel about. You would probably find this especially disgusting even before you tried chewing the slug itself. Snails produce less mucus but are a bit chewy as well. They are eaten – especially in certain countries like France where you could order a plate of Escargots.

      Eating slugs can cause harm to humans, as they can carry parasites.
