  As an aircraft engineer, we do a lot of testing and analysis. We may have a component we suspect are faulty, but we have to confirm it first. So we will look at the history of the component. Has it failed before? If so, when did it fail? Are there any faults that could be associated to the component? Only when we are sure that the component is definitely the problem, we will change it. After changing it, we will then test the entire system to ensure it’s working as it should, and the fault is gone.
