Well there wasn’t always a Moon circling Earth… the Moon was formed relatively late in the formation of Earth when a large asteroid collided with our planet and broken of part of the Earth to form the Moon. One of the things that the Moon does is to cause the oceans to be tidal… planets without moons would not have as strong tides as the Earth does.

there would be no waves or tides in the sea as those are controlled by the moons gravitational pull on the earth. the night sky would be quite a bit darker. how we work out the months of the year might change and the seasons as those are connected in some way to the cycle of the moon in some cultures

If the moon were to disappear, our climate would change dramatically. The moons gravity would no longer keep the earth from wobbling too much on it’s axis and the tides would all change.
